HT Imam, the political advisor to the Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, is no more. He died at the Combined Military Hospital at 1.15pm on Wednesday (March 3).
HT Imam had been suffering from kidney complications for a long time. He was admitted to CMH recently due to increasing illness. He was under treatment for about two weeks.
President Mohammad Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep grief over the death of HT Imam.
Biplob Barua, special assistant to the prime minister and office secretary of the Awami League, confirmed the matter and said the decision on his janaza and burial would be announced later.
HT Imam was the Cabinet Secretary of the Expatriate Government of Bangladesh during the War of Liberation. He has been the political advisor to the Prime Minister since 2014.
Hossain Tawfiq Imam has been serving as the political advisor to the Prime Minister since 2014. HT Imam is better known in the political arena of the country. The former government official was born in 1939. He was 72 years old at the time of his death.
